Oro del Desierto proudly presents a new, limited edition organic extra virgin olive oil, a testament to their innovative spirit. This medium-intensity oil is crafted from 100% organic Picual de Almeria olives, a rare, ancient variety native to the Almería province in southern Andalusia. The Alonso family cultivates these unique olives in a small, mountainous grove within the Sierra de Filabres.
Despite ripening late, these olives are harvested green to produce an exceptionally aromatic, balanced, and harmonious oil. On the nose, it offers nuanced notes of green pepper, walnuts, almonds, aromatic herbs, ripe tomato, and artichoke. The palate is greeted with a sweet entry and strong almond flavor, followed by low bitterness and a pleasant spicy finish. It’s ideal with anchovies, sauces, sautéed or grilled vegetables, salmon, trout, and white meats like pork and chicken.
